IPNEWS: Minister of Finance and Development Planning Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan has called for greater urgency, accountability, and coordination in the implementation of government-funded infrastructure projects.

Speaking Monday, August 10, 2026, during a “Deep Dive” engagement with the Ministry of Public Works, Minister Ngafuan stressed that the exercise must go beyond presentations and statistics, with a focus on identifying concrete solutions to challenges affecting budget execution and project delivery.

Minister Ngafuan said the engagement is intended to provide the government with a clearer picture of how budgetary resources are being utilized and whether expenditures are translating into tangible development outcomes for the Liberian people.

Public Works Minister Roland Lafayette Giddings welcomed the engagement, emphasizing the importance of stronger collaboration between the two ministries, particularly in budget execution, project financing, procurement, monitoring, and ensuring that resources allocated to the Ministry of Public Works produce measurable results.

The session brought together senior officials and technical teams from both institutions, including MFDP’s Deputy Minister for Fiscal Affairs Anthony G. Myers, Deputy Minister for Economic Management Dehpue Y. Zuo, and Assistant Minister for Budget Sarah Mulbah, as well as Public Works Deputy Minister for Administration Samukai Dunor and Assistant Minister for Planning, Program and Research Abraham Rahim Bility, among others.
