IPNEWS: The authoritative Independent Probe Newspaper has gathered that the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Officer-in-change, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitzgerald T. M. Biago, has resigned.

Sources tell IPNEWS that Deputy Commissioner Fitzgerald T. M. Biago, submitted his resignation Saturday afternoon to the Minister of Justice amid heighten controversy over being conflicted in receiving a pickup truck allegedly from members of the Drugs Cartel.

Prior to this reported resignation, Deputy Police Commissioner, and Officer-In Charge of the LDEA unequivocally denied allegations linking him to receiving a Toyota pickup truck from an alleged drug cartel.

In an official statement, the LDEA clarified that Biago never received, accepted, or authorized anyone to accept the vehicle.

The LDEA maintained there is no verifiable evidence supporting the claim.

Activist Martin K. N. Kollie sparked public scrutiny by claiming registration records connect a gray convoy pickup to suspected drug trafficker George Wha Harris.

Despite the LDEA’s denial, critics and activists vowed to share video evidence showing the controversial vehicle being driven within Biago’s official operational convoy which was posted early Saturday morning on social media.

Source within the National Security Agency tell IPNEWS that Mr. Biago has been picked up for further investigation.

Early Saturday morning, Mr. Bigo worte on social Media, stating that he was rescuing himslef temporarily from all investigation and function as OIC of LDEA.

“Today, I requested to temporarily recuse myself from the functions of Officer-in-Charge of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency while an allegation concerning me is independently investigated.

I categorically deny receiving any vehicle, gift, or benefit from a drug trafficker or anyone acting on behalf of a drug-trafficking organization. My decision is not an admission of wrongdoing; it is an act of institutional responsibility intended to protect the integrity of the investigation, prevent any perception of interference, and preserve public confidence in the LDEA.

No institution can effectively demand accountability from others while appearing unwilling to submit itself to the same standard. I will cooperate fully with the investigation and remain confident that an impartial, transparent, and evidence-based process will establish the truth.

The institution must always remain greater than the individual.” Mr. Biago wrote. However, what prompted this latest report of resignation is anybody’s guess. Investigation continues.
