IPNEWS: The Liberia Telecommunications Authority, LTA, has been recognized by the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission, PPCC, for its strong compliance with public procurement regulations.

The PPCC has presented the LTA with a set of E-Procurement equipment as part of government’s efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in procurement processes across public institutions.

The equipment includes one multifunction printer, three computers, three laptop bags, and three computer mice.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, LTA Board Chairman Clarence K. Massaquoui described the initiative as a major milestone in government’s efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of public resources and contracts.

Chairman Massaquoui praised the LTA procurement team for consistently adhering to procurement laws, despite the challenges involved.

He said the PPCC’s E-Procurement platform demonstrates President Joseph Boakai’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability across government, adding that the LTA remains committed to supporting that agenda.

The LTA Board Chairman also commended PPCC Executive Director Bodger Scott Johnson and his team for providing technical and logistical support to the telecommunications regulator.

Chairman Massaquoui further disclosed that Liberian contractors have benefited from more than US$20 million worth of contracts since the introduction of the E-Procurement initiative, describing the development as a major step toward economic empowerment and Liberianization.

Meanwhile, he has called on the PPCC to decentralize the E-Procurement program to ensure wider access and participation across the country.

For his part, PPCC Executive Director Bodger Scott Johnson commended the LTA for its continued compliance with procurement requirements, particularly its use of the national E-Procurement platform.

Johnson said the initiative is designed to strengthen the skills of procurement actors in managing procurement plans, uploading documents, and managing vendor contracts through an efficient electronic system.
