Sen. Kogar Alarms Over Misused of Government Funds by Superintendent Gono

‎‎Ganta, Nimba county……Nimba County Senator Samuel Kogar has criticized Superintendent Kou Meapeh Gono’s ongoing renovation projects in the county, questioning whether they reflect the true needs of the people.

‎‎According to Sen. Kogar, while some may view the renovation of superintendent and commissioner compounds, district offices, and airport facilities as progress, such spending does not address the pressing challenges facing residents.‎

‎He stressed that the funds being used do not belong to the government but to the county and should be directed toward development that benefits citizens, especially farmers struggling with poor road conditions.‎

‎Sen. Kogar highlighted the recent executive order banning the export of processed rubber and argued that Nimba, being a major rubber-producing region, should prioritize establishing rubber processing plants. He suggested placing processing facilities across the three electoral districts to boost local revenue and support farmers.

    ‎

‎Additionally, he proposed investing in real estate and skills development programs to generate long-term economic benefits. According to him, proceeds from such ventures could fund scholarships, including sponsoring Nimba students in nursing and other fields—under agreements requiring them to return and serve the county.‎

‎“This way, the county benefits not just today, but for generations,” Kogar emphasized.
