—Witherspoon Says Boakai Administration Lacks Love for the People

IPNEWS: The Chief Executive Officer of Spoon Network, Mr. Stanton Witherspoon, has launched a sharp criticism of the ruling Unity Party (UP), accusing it of coming to power with intentions to “steal, kill, and destroy” the country.

Speaking during a recent edition of his network’s flagship talk show, Witherspoon alleged that the administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai did not assume office to “rescue” Liberians as promised during the 2023 elections, but rather to exploit the nation for personal gain.

“This government did not come to serve; it came to steal, kill, and destroy,” Witherspoon declared. “They have no genuine love for the country or its children, who are supposed to be the future leaders.”

He further accused officials of the Unity Party of being motivated by greed and self-interest, alleging that they receive kickbacks from every concession deal brought into the country.

“Every concession that comes to Liberia is treated as a money-making opportunity for top officials,” he claimed, adding that “the suffering of ordinary Liberians means nothing to those in charge.”

Witherspoon, a controversial media executive known for his outspoken commentary, also revealed that he is working to build momentum for an opposition takeover in the 2029 presidential elections, arguing that the current administration has failed to live up to its campaign promises of good governance and accountability.

Political observers, however, view the remarks as part of the intensifying political rhetoric ahead of the next electoral cycle.
