    Liberia: President Boakai Makes Additional Appointments In Government

    IPNEWS President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has made new appointments in government affecting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Liberia Intellectual Property Office (LIPO), the Control Drugs and Substances Board of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), and the Local Government of Margibi County.

    Those appointed are:

    I. Ministry of Foreign Affairs

    1. Mr. George S.W. Patten, Sr., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of South Africa

    II. Liberia Intellectual Property Office (LIPO) – Board of Directors

    1. Ministry of Justice- Member

    2. Ministry of Education- Member

    3. Ministry of Commerce- Member

    4. Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs- Member

    5. Ministry of Health- Member

    6. Ministry of Agriculture- Member

    7. Liberia Revenue Authority-Member

    8. Director General of the Intellectual Property Office- Board Secretary

    9. Ms. Rose King – Performing Arts Representative

    10. Ms. Watta Kerkula – Movie Union Representative

    11. Mr. Ngaima Kawala – Civil Society & Technology Representative

    III. Control Drugs and Substances Board – Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency

    1. Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, Minister of Justice, Statutory Member

    2. Honorable Francis S. Nyumalin, Minister of Internal Affairs, Statutory Member

    3. Dr. Louise M. Kpoto, Minister of Health, Statutory Member

    4. Honorable Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Statutory Member

    5. Dr. Jarso Jallah, Minister of Education, Statutory Member

    6. Cllr. Jerror Cole Bangalu, Minister of Youth & Sports, Statutory Member

    7. Mr. Arthur Dowah, National Traditional Council, Statutory Member

    8. Dr. Joshua Peters, Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Statutory Member

    9. Mr. Maxson S. Kpakio, Private Sector Representative, Member

    10. Mr. Dan Saryee, Civil Society Representative, Member

    IV. Local Government of Margibi County

    1. Mr. Richmond A.G. Flemming, II, Commissioner – Schieffelin Township

    These appointments, where applicable, are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

    President Boakai calls on all appointed officials of Government to continue to demonstrate diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to country.
