The Environmental Eyes Consultancy and Advocacy Firm Inc. (EECAF) commends the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Liberia for its bold and proactive nationwide tour and inspection mission, led by the Executive Director Dr. Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo. This initiative reflects a renewed commitment to environmental governance, enforcement of regulatory standards, and community engagement across all counties. This initiative is also taking leadership directly to affected communities and industrial sites, the EPA is setting a commendable precedent for transparency and accountability in environmental management.
The tour is not only a demonstration of operational diligence but also a strategic opportunity to gather firsthand data, monitor environmental risks, and mobilize local stakeholders around climate resilience, pollution control, and biodiversity conservation. EECAF applauds the EPA’s engagement with grassroots actors, local authorities, and civil society organizations, which ensures a participatory approach to environmental stewardship. The findings and policy recommendations arising from this tour will be used for national action plans and policy actors within the sectors and be used for future deterrence.
We therefore call on the Office of the President of the Republic of Liberia H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr, to extend full political support by emphasizing on inter-ministerial coordination with the EPA. We at the level of EECAF strongly believe that this executive backing is essential to reinforce the EPA’s authority, secure and ensure timely implementation of its recommendations, and integrate environmental priorities into national development agendas. Liberia’s path to sustainable growth requires bold leadership, commitment, the respect for policy implementation, and adherence to the rule of law; we are urging the President to champion this effort in line with domestic laws controlling and key pillars of the Sustainable Development Goals. Lastly, we look forward for the full publication of the EPA’s report from its nationwide tour for institutional’s analysis and enforcement.
Environmental protection is everyone concern and responsibility.
    Mr. MATTHEW SIEH WISSEH
    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
    EECAF
