IPNEWS: A disturbing incident at the Foya Free Pentecostal Mission School in Foya District, Lofa County, has sparked concern among residents following reports that a school administrator allegedly stabbed a student during a disciplinary confrontation.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident involved the school’s Dean of Students, who reportedly took issue with a student’s failure to cut his hair in accordance with school regulations.

What began as a disciplinary matter allegedly escalated into a violent encounter that left the student injured.

Sources at the school disclosed that the dean instructed the student to leave the classroom after noticing that his hair had not been properly cut.

However, the student reportedly refused to comply with the order, leading to a tense exchange between the two.

Witnesses claimed that the disagreement quickly intensified, with the dean allegedly becoming agitated over the student’s refusal to follow instructions.

The situation reportedly moved beyond verbal confrontation and turned physical.

In the midst of the altercation, the dean is accused of using a kitchen knife to stab the student, causing serious injuries.

The victim was reportedly rushed for medical treatment shortly after the incident.

The condition of the student has not been officially disclosed, but community members expressed shock and concern over the alleged use of violence by an educator against a student.

The incident has triggered widespread discussion in Foya, where residents are demanding a full investigation and appropriate action by educational and law enforcement authorities.

Many citizens have described the event as another troubling development for the district, which has recently experienced several high-profile incidents that have attracted national attention, including reports of mob violence and border-related tensions involving neighboring Guinea.

Parents and community leaders have called on the Ministry of Education and local authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure accountability if the allegations are proven true.

The latest incident has also reignited concerns about the growing trend of violence in Liberia.

Observers say conflicts that could otherwise be resolved through dialogue are increasingly ending in physical confrontations, raising questions about discipline, conflict resolution, and public safety across communities.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the reported stabbing as investigations continue.
