Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon is proposing a specialized court dedicated to the prosecution of drug-related offenses across the country.
Senator Dillon argued that the existing court system is heavily burdened with wide range of cases, leading to significant delays in prosecuting drug offenses.
He added that such delays undermine the fight against the rising drug crisis in the country.
The Montserrado County senator vowed to submit a bill at the Legislature seeking an amendment to the law that would empower Criminal Court “D” to handle all drug-related cases exclusively.
He believed the reform would fast-track hearings and judgments, ensuring justice and more effective deterrence against drug crimes
