Host 1st Africa College of Bishops Conference
IPNEWS: Rev. Dr. Samuel B. Reeves, Jr. has delivered a powerful keynote address at the Africa College of Bishops 2026 Meeting hosted at the Farmington Hotel in Margibi County, Liberia.
Serving as the President of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) and Senior Pastor of the Historic Providence Baptist Church, Dr. Reeves challenged senior African church leaders to transform and expand the church’s role beyond traditional worship.
Drawing inspiration from Isaiah 54, Dr. Reeves used the biblical call to “enlarge the tent” to address Africa’s history of conflict, displacement, and social transformation.
The Baptist prelate strongly urged the African Church to create greater opportunities for young people, women, emerging leaders, and scholars.
He declared that African Christianity is no longer just receiving the future of the faith, but is actively shaping global Christianity.
He called for deeper unity, institutional capacity building, and enhanced cooperation among churches and Christian institutions across the continent.
The conference marks the first time Liberia has hosted the Africa College of Bishops, bringing together ecumenical partners, government officials, and senior clergy from multiple African nations to discuss the future of episcopal leadership.
Rev. Dr. Samuel Reeves was recently reelected as President of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) during the Council’s 36th General Assembly, and will serve another four-year term at the helm of the LCC.
