    President Boakai Makes New Government Appointments

    IPNEWS: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has made several appointments in Government, affecting the Ministries of Justice, Gender, Children and Social Protection, and Local Government.

    The appointments also affect the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) and the National Transit Authority (NTA).

    At the Ministry of Justice, Cllr. Betty M. Lamin-Blamo has been appointed Minister of Justice, while Cllr. Abrahim Boimah Sillah, Sr. has been appointed Solicitor General.

    Outgoing Minister Oswald N. Tweh and outgoing Solicitor General Augustine Fayiah are to be reassigned to other levels of government.

    At the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ms. Angel M. Morris has been appointed Deputy Minister for Public Affairs, while Mr. Harrison K. Sorsor has been appointed Assistant Minister for Research, Policy and Planning.

    Meanwhile, Mr. Alex Chersia Grant has been appointed Commissioner of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC)

    At the Ministry of Local Government, Mr. Christopher Ben Bailey has been appointed Superintendent of Grand Gedeh County.

    For the National Transit Authority, Mr. Benedict Yeke Harleysion, Sr. has been reappointed Chairman of the Board.

    The appointments form part of the President’s ongoing efforts to strengthen key institutions of Government and enhance the effective delivery of public services.

    Where applicable, nominees will be subject to Senate confirmation.
