Liberia’s National Port Authority Managing Director, HON. SEKOU A. M. DUKULY, says recent lunch of the RESET agenda- a Five-year strategic plan- that will enable the port to efficiently facilitate trade and anchor growth and development for Liberia’s economy.

Dukuly stated that central to that plan is to ensure efficiency and reduce custom clearing time by up to 50%. That is why this Time Release Study is not just timely and commendable but shows how the LRA and other stakeholders share the congestion concerns of the NPA and Liberian businesses.

“This study is therefore a beacon of hope and an embodiment of our shared commitment to ensuring cargo moves faster, and safer through our ports.

As we await the outcome of the study, I want to assure all stakeholders that the NPA will work with LRA and others to ensure the findings and recommendations are not just read but utilized to address congestion challenges at the port.

I am aware that this initiative would not have been possible without the technical support from the World Customs Organization and the financial support from His Majesty’s Revenue and Custom of the United Kingdom. I therefore want to express a special thanks to the World Custom Organization and our profoundest gratitude to the United Kingdom.

This technical and financial support goes beyond the freeport of Monrovia; it extends to helping us grow our economy and making our business expand. That is why as we look ahead, we seek more of this kind of support and parentships so we can transform our nation and inspire others to follow suit.

Thank you all for your dedication and support. Let us move forward together with courage and determination.” Dukuly told participants.

NPA Managing Director, further  stated that  the  new Time Release Study tool driven by the LRA will help address custom clearing challenges at the Freeport of Monrovia.
