The newly appointed Officer-in-Charge of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitzgerald Biago, has convened a high-level meeting with all operational and administrative heads to outline his leadership’s uncompromising stance on discipline, accountability, and professionalism.
DCP Biago, flanked by his deputies, extended appreciation to the President of Liberia, H.E. Joseph N. Boakai, for entrusting them with the responsibility to lead the fight against drug trafficking and abuse. He vowed that his administration will execute its mandate without fear or favor, stressing that loyalty to duty and adherence to procedures will not be compromised.
In a direct warning to the chain of command, the Officer-in-Charge declared that no act of indiscipline, insubordination, or sabotage will be entertained. He cautioned that any officer who violates established administrative procedures will face immediate and decisive consequences.
As part of reinforcing institutional discipline, DCP Biago instructed that all operational heads will be made to sign a confidentiality code. He warned that officers caught leaking sensitive information will be severely sanctioned and held personally accountable for undermining the Agency’s integrity.
The Officer-in-Charge also mandated strict time consciousness, professionalism, and accuracy in the discharge of duties. He condemned the circulation of misinformation within the Agency, describing it as a “virus” that weakens operational output and jeopardizes national security.
Assuring the Liberian people, DCP Biago reaffirmed that the war on drugs will be waged with an aggressive, uncompromising, and coordinated approach.
He stressed that despite existing challenges, the LDEA under his command will stand firm, enforce the law, and pursue traffickers and abusers with precision until the menace of drugs is defeated.
