—As Finance Ministry Resolves Salary Glitch Overnight!

IPNEWS: The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) informs civil servants and other workers of government that significant progress has been made with the system upgrade at our data center to facilitate the start of disbursement of salary payments for employees more than 30 GOL ministries, and institutions.

An earlier statement from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning had earlier notified the public about technical challenges with the upgrade had occasioned a temporary delay in salary payments due to System Upgrade. However, in a overtime work over night, the MFDP states that it is pleased to report that it has already disbursed to the commercial banks’ salary payments for employees of   more than 31 GOL ministries, agencies, and commissions and the disbursements of salary payments for several other GOL entities is underway. Depending on how quickly the commercial banks would credit the accounts of GOL employees, we expect that most employees of the GOL would have fully received their salaries by the end of the month (Octiber 31, 2025).

“The Government of Liberia remains committed to transparency and accountability in all financial matters. We deeply value the contribution of civil servants to the country’s development and assure them of our unwavering commitment to timely salary payments.

We kindly remind all civil servants that any temporary delays are due solely to ongoing system upgrades, which are intended to enhance the overall efficiency and reliability of our financial operations.

We thank all government employees for their patience and understanding and reaffirm our role as a responsible government that prioritizes the welfare of its workforce.” The MFDP countered statement read.

Last Friday, the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, reported ‘Temporary Delay in Salary Payments’ Due to System Upgrade.

in a release, the MFDP stated that the Office of the Comptroller and Accountant General (CAG) informs all employees of the Government of Liberia that processing of payment of salaries for October is ongoing, but payment will last up to the 1st week in November.

According to a Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) release, this temporary delay is due to ongoing technical upgrades and maintenance work being carried out at the Ministry’s central data center.

These system enhancements are part of the MFDP’s broader efforts to modernize its financial management systems and improve data security in salary processing and related financial transactions.

The Ministry is aware that these delays may cause inconvenience and apologizes to all civil servants and government employees for the delay.

The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has maintained a strong record of largely being timely in the payment of government salaries and remains firmly committed to upholding this standard.

The Ministry appreciates the patience and understanding of all government employees as these important improvements are being finalized.
