Patrick Honnah Calls CDC ‘Recklessly Shameless Party’ says Party Now Silent After Arrival of Buses

IPNEWS: The Commissioner of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), Patrick Honnah, has described the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) as a “recklessly shameless party,” accusing it of hypocrisy and frustration over the Unity Party government’s development progress.

Speaking on the government’s official podcast, “Class Reloaded,” which highlights key initiatives of the Unity Party (UP) administration, Honnah criticized the CDC for what he termed as “habitual complaining” about the government’s performance while ignoring visible progress.

“The CDC is both shameless and reckless,” Honnah said. “They have been asking when the yellow machines and buses will come. Now that the buses have arrived, they have suddenly gone quiet.”

The LTA Commissioner argued that the CDC’s shifting narrative reflects its desperation to remain relevant in national politics despite what he described as tangible progress being made under President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s leadership.

Honnah also urged officials and supporters of the Unity Party to document and keep records of CDC members’ online posts and public statements for future reference.

“Unity Party officials should take screenshots and keep what the CDC people post,” he said. “When the truth becomes clear, they can be reminded of what they said.”

Honnah’s comments come amid a series of political exchanges between the ruling Unity Party and the CDC, as both sides continue to trade accusations over governance performance, accountability, and development priorities.

As of press time, the Coalition for Democratic Change had not issued a response to the LTA Commissioner’s remarks.
