IPNEWS: The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) is pleased to announce a significant step towards enhancing the countryโs energy security.
LEC has officially ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ (๐๐๐) ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฐ๐๐ซ ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, comprising 80MW from Natural Gas/Thermal energy and 20MW from Solar energy. This critical project is expected to be installed in the shortest possible time, further strengthening Liberiaโs electricity infrastructure.
In addition to this initiative, ๐ง๐๐ ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ฐ๐๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฌ/๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ญ, ๐ฐ๐ก๐ข๐๐ก ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ง๐๐ฑ๐ญ ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก๐ฌ. This transformative project aims to significantly reduce Liberiaโs energy deficit, improve grid stability, and support economic growth by providing affordable and reliable electricity to households, businesses, and industries across the country.
These initiatives and others ongoing projects reflect our commitment to scaling up power generation in Liberia to meet growing demand and ensure long-term energy sustainability. The addition of 370MW through these projects will not only enhance reliability but also support industrialization and economic expansion.
