The Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) awarded full academic sponsorships to 22 Liberian students for maritime studies at the Regional Maritime University in Ghana, as announced on September 1, 2025. This initiative, which includes both undergraduate and graduate and graduate-level studies in fields like port management and marine engineering, is part of Liberia’s strategy to develop skilled professionals for its significant maritime sector.
The students, who departed on September 1, will pursue studies to build the country’s capacity and maintain its global competitiveness in shipping.
Program Focus
The scholarship focuses on the Fields of Study and cover critical areas for the industry, such as: Ports and Shipping Administration, International Shipping and Logistics, Environmental Management, Renewable Energy Engineering, Marine Engineering and Maritime Safety & Security
