The Liberia National Police (LNP) says it responded to a deeply troubling incident involving the alleged amputation of a 7-year-old girl’s finger in the New Georgia Guff community, District #13.

The young victim, identified as Georgina, was reportedly punished after being accused of causing her father’s eldest sister’s baby to fall while they were playing.

Eyewitness Princess Kennedy stated that the suspect, a woman, grabbed Georgina and deliberately injured her by cutting her finger with a wooden bench as punishment for the accident.

The suspect has been arrested and transferred to the Zone 4 Police Depot, where investigations are ongoing. The LNP has assured the public that justice will be served.

Georgina, who was brought from Buchanan, Compound #3, to live with her aunt, is currently receiving medical treatment at a local health facility in the district.

The incident has provoked widespread outrage within the community, with many residents demanding justice and accountability.

“This is a horrifying case that underscores the urgent need for justice and transparency,” said a local community leader. “We call on the police to act decisively and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.” Courtesy of Verity Newspaper
