The Chairman of the Students Unification Party (SUP), Odecious Mulbah, has issued a strong warning to Youth and Sports Minister Cornelia W. Kruah, urging her to desist from what he described as interference in the internal affairs of the party.
In a statement, Mulbah accused the Minister of allegedly misusing taxpayers’ money under the pretext of conducting county tours. He argued that many of the challenges confronting young people across Liberia are already widely known and documented, rendering such tours unnecessary.
The SUP Chairman further alleged that in less than three months, Minister Kruah’s actions have contributed to instability within several youth-related institutions, including the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY), the Motorcycle Union, and the Liberia National Students Union.
Mulbah also claimed that the Minister has reportedly provided financial support—amounting to as much as US$10,000—to individuals affiliated with other political groups, with the alleged intent of disrupting a planned April 14 protest centered on demands for jobs and justice.
Efforts to obtain an official response from Minister Kruah have so far been unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, the allegations have sparked growing debate among political observers and youth organizations, as tensions continue to mount ahead of the planned protest.
