Nimba County Senator Samuel Kogar has publicly expressed his opposition to Vice President Jeremiah Koung, accusing him of dominating the county’s political landscape.

Speaking during a recent reconciliation program hosted by former Representative Rogar Domah of Nimba that was held  in Nimba, Senator Kogar stated that the Vice President Jeremiah Kung has reduced his role to that of a local figure, calling this situation “wrong and unacceptable.”

He further accused Vice President Koung of practicing “double standards,” while emphasizing that, traditionally, he still views Koung as his “son” and respects him as Vice President

Additionally, Senator Kogar criticized certain leaders within Nimba County for what he described as “acts of sycophancy,” claiming that these individuals remain silent to maintain their positions and political power.

Meanwhile, the General Coordinator of the Traditional Council of Nimba County, Melvin Duo, has expressed deep frustration over comments allegedly made by Senator Samuel Kogar.

‎‎Duo described the statement as disrespectful and ungrateful, recalling the council’s role in Senator Kogar’s rise to power.‎

‎He stressed that the council’s support for Senator Kogar was purely based on tradition and community will, dismissing any notion of a “godfather” arrangement.

Meanwhile, Liberia’s Vice President, H.E. Jeremiah Kpan Koung has broken his silence, dismissing rumors of a feud with Senator Kogar.

Appearing on Voice of Gompa, Monday morning, VP Koung stated that the circulating stories by Sen. Koar are false and affirmed his unwavering support for the Senator.

He clarified his supportive role, citing family dynamics as the reason he is giving Kogar “the space to lead” By: Andrew B Weah, 0770637216/0886429103, andrewbweah@gmail.com
