——Finger Point at Each Other over Mineral Deal 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐞  and Steelfort investment deals

In what appears to be another round of fresh political rivalry has ensued between two of Grand Bassa’s  Senators, Senator Gbehzohngar Findley and senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence .

‎Grand Bassa County Senator Gbehzohngar Findley has made a twist following accusation of his involvement in a controversial investment deal with Steelfort company.

Appearing on the late Sunda evening famous Spooon Talk, Senator Findley refuted accusation that the Steelfort deal was a ‘BM Deal as was alleged and lashed out at Senate Pro-Tempore ’ Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence over her  pushing for a controversial ‘Notre Dame concession’ terming them as harmful and not in the interest of the Bassaland.

Findley’s push back comes days following criticism against him for ties to the Steelfort investment deal.

Senator Findley clarified that senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence  is the one supporting a company that once harmed Grand BASSA County.‎

‎Senator Findley’s reaction followed recent accusations by Senator Karnga-Lawrence, claiming Senator Findley had signed a questionable ‘BM Speed deal’.

“The agreement with Steelfort Company, is not ‘BM Speed deal’ as been alleged, and

It was done legally through the Grand Bassa Legislative Caucus.” Senator Findley clarified.‎

‎In response, Senator Karnga-Lawrence denied any business involvement with 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐞 .‎

‎She further noted that Notre Dame is currently involved in a legal dispute, warning that signing new agreements before the case is resolved raises concerns.‎

‎As tensions escalate between the two senators, residents and observers are calling for transparency and accountability in the county’s development deals.

Findley’s clarification follows last week fresh start to another round of political rivalry between  the two Senators of Grand Bassa County  over  the controversial Steelfort deal.

Speaking via mobile phone on the Dumboy Show on local media outlet Ableejay Radio and TV, Pro-tempore Karnga-Lawrence accused Senator Findley and others involved in the signing of the deal as ‘BM and fraud’.

According to her, the deal had been marred by manipulation and fradudulent practices, undermine transparency and accountability in the Senate.

Senator Lawrence comments immediately sparked a ferry reaction from SAENTOR Findley, who dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated.

Senator Lawrence further maintains that the era reflects a broader pattern of fraudulent behavior by some Senators-but Senator Findley insisted that Senator Karnga-Lawrence claims are fabrications meant to tarnish his reputation

Sen. Findley, minutes into the show, call in response accused Senator Lawrence of being an all-time laiar.

He further accused Senator Karnga-Lawarence of wrongfully using the situation to score political grade at the expense of the ordinary Bassa People.

“She lies all the time. Senator Lawrence is using the falsehoods to score political points and distract from the real issues facing the country and the county.”

The Steelfort deal though yet ot be finalized and explained to the public, has increasingly become a controversial one within the Senate, especially between rival camps of the Grand BASSA Caucus .

The Rift Over Power – The 2024 Presidential Pro-Tempore Election

The rivalry became more direct in January 2024, when the Senate race for President Pro-Tempore divided loyalties.

Though Sen. Findley initially accepted nomination but withdrew from the process, citing “traditional political practice” and consultations with his supporters.

That decision led Sen. Karnga-Lawrence to secure the position in a white-ballot election, thus making her the first female head of the Senate after many years.

    Differing Party Trajectories—and Internal Fractures

Senator Karnga-Lawrence has been a central figure in the Liberty Party (LP), becoming the party’s political leader after the death of Cllr. Charles Brumskine.

Under her gavel, the party fractured with Musa Bility as chairman holding onto Collaborating Political Party loyalty.
