IPNEWS: Montserrado County District #13 Representative Edward P Flomo narrowly escaped death following a serious road traffic accident along the Roberts International Airport (RIA) Highway involving a commercial vehicle that reportedly crashed into his vehicle.
According to preliminary information, Rep. Flomo was returning from the Roberts International Airport along with several of his supporters after they had gone to welcome former President George Manneh Weah, the political leader of the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
Sources said the accident occurred as Rep. Flomo and his supporters were leaving the airport and traveling along the RIA Highway when a commercial vehicle allegedly rammed into their vehicle.
The collision caused extensive damage to Rep. Flomo’s vehicle and left several other persons including the CDC Lawmaker wounded.
The impact of the accident was reportedly severe, with the lawmaker narrowly escaping what could have been a fatal tragedy.
Several of the injured victims were reportedly taken for medical attention.
However, the exact number of people injured and the extent of their injuries have not yet been officially confirmed.
