    Pres. Boakai Bill seeking to Ban Female Genital Mutilations (FGM) SUFFERS Setback

    —As SEVERAL LAWMAKERS REJECTS BILL

    IPNEWS: The recent bill Seeking to officially ban the practice of Female Genital Mutilations (FGM) which was sent to the Legislature by the President for concurrence, have met stiff resistance from several law makers including, Montserrado County Dist 10 lawmaker Hon Yekeh Kolubah, Bong County Dist 5 Lawmaker Hon Eugene Kollie and others.

    In their advocacy, they are saying the act should be updated and modify, but not to abolished it completely, because it is a way of life, that have long existed among their people.

    The practice of FGM according to World Health Organization (WHO) has no health benefits meanwhile in a dramatic twist, the bill seeking to abolished FGM has spark several debate among lawmakers and Citizens, some Citizens are even asking if “GAY act” and “LESBIANISM” have Health benefits?
