IPNEWS: Authorities of the William V. S. Tubman University (TU), in Mayland County say they are currently in a strategic dialogue between its President and CEO, Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, and Dr. Moussa Diaby, Director General of the Institute National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB), focused on forging a collaborative partnership to advance education and development in West Africa.
The discussion highlights potential avenues for cooperation, including joint research projects sustainable infrastructure, and technology development that address the specific needs of Liberia and the West African region. Both institutions expressed commitment to establishing faculty and student exchange programs to foster cross-cultural learning and enhance technical expertise.
Additional collaboration opportunities identified include sharing best practices in engineering and applied sciences curricula to align education with industry demands, organizing joint workshops and training sessions on industrial innovation and environmental sustainability, and creating internship programs leveraging INP-HB’s industry connections to provide practical experience for TU students.
Dr. Menjay emphasized the historical connection between the institutions, noting that both are named after transformative leaders—William V. S. Tubman and Félix Houphouët-Boigny—who were close friends and visionaries for development in their respective countries.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to expedite the drafting of a Memorandum of Agreement to formalize this south-to-south educational collaboration. Dr. Diaby reaffirmed his strong support for bringing this partnership into reality.
