President Joseph Boakai says, his government Will Not Condone any act of Hooliganism’ as he Condemns Capitol Building Fire Incident describing it as a serious threat to Liberia’s democracy, vows to hold those responsible accountable, as government made available five thousand United States dollars to any individual that will provide credible information.

President Joseph Boakai has condemned the recent fire incident at the Joint Chamber of the Capitol Building.

The Wednesday incident brings the number of fire outbreaks at the Capitol Building to two in recent times, amidst the crises at the House of Representatives.

Speaking to reporters during a brief visit to the Capitol on Wednesday, President Boakai revealed that he had directed Justice Minister Oswald Tweh to launch a full investigation into the incident.

Although the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, President Boakai’s remarks hinted at the possibility of foul play, but the president told reporters that his government will not condone hooliganism, or any act intended to undermine the operations of the government.
