‎‎IPNEWS: Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon has publicly acknowledged that former President George Manneh Weah remains the biggest political figure in Liberia, a statement that underscores the enduring influence of the ex-football icon turned statesman.  ‎

‎Speaking during a recent engagement, Senator Dillon emphasized that despite political differences, Weah’s popularity and reach across Liberia’s electorate remain unmatched.‎

‎“There is no denying that former President Weah commands the largest following in the country,” Dillon noted, adding that such recognition is essential for understanding Liberia’s political dynamics.‎

‎Weah, who served as Liberia’s 25th president from 2018 to 2024, continues to maintain a strong grassroots presence, particularly among young voters and communities outside Monrovia.‎

‎His political base, built on decades of international fame as a football legend and his appeal as a populist leader, has proven resilient even after leaving office. By Gerald T. Morris Jr
