IPNEWS: A 22 Liberian, Bilal Kouyateh has finally taking the next big step in his football career after signing a six month loan deal with NK Brinje Grosuplje, in the second tier of the  Slovenian football league.

The call from NK Brinje Grosuplje had been a validation, a sign that his hard work was paying off.  The move was a major step for the Liberian, both professionally and personally. It was an opportunity to showcase his abilities on a bigger stage, a stepping stone towards his ultimate goal of playing top-flight football.  He knew Slovenia would be different, a new language, a new culture, a new set of challenges.  But Bilal embraced the unknown.

Bailal has his sights set on playing in the top division, and eventually, representing his country in major international tournaments. But for now, his focus is on making the most of his time at NK Brinje Grosuplje, until the national team opportunity can arrive.

His debut for NK Brinje Grosuplje was a moment of pure joy.  Stepping onto the pitch, wearing the club’s jersey, he felt a surge of pride.  He played with passion, his every touch a testament to his journey.  He wasn’t just playing for himself; he was representing his country, Liberia, for all the young footballers back home who dreamed of following in his footsteps.

His first game in a club friendly was a moment he would never forget. The roar of the crowd, the thrill of the competition, it was everything he had ever dreamed of. He played with heart and determination, showcasing his skills and making an immediate impact on the team

The left winger had left Monrovia years ago, a raw talent brimming with potential.  France had been a proving ground, a place to refine his skills, adapt to a different style of play, and learn the intricacies of European football.  He’d faced challenges, moments of doubt, and the constant pressure to prove himself.  But he persevered, driven by the dream of making it big.

He started his football career in the lower division and later played for Oissel U-17 and U-18 teams respectively; the lad was promoted to Oissel B team in France.  His talent did not go unnoticed with the Spanish club Rayo Vallecano inviting him on the reserve.  After a year at the LaLiga side, Kouyateh returned to France to wait for the right opportunity.

His performances caught the attention of scouts, and soon, offers came pouring in. After careful consideration, he decided to sign with NK Brinje Grosuplje, a second-division club in Slovenia.

The Liberian is on the list of clubs in Europe for the summer when his contract NK Brinje Grosuplje come to an end.
