Apostle Dr. Elijah Kofi King has issued a controversial prophecy predicting a “fierce and bloody” political struggle over leadership in Liberia for 2026 and beyond.
The Ghanaian minister, who leads Fire Nation Arena Ministries, regularly broadcasts predictions regarding West African political climates. His recent declarations have sparked sharp criticism from Liberian citizens and civic groups who view these predictions as politically disruptive rather than spiritual.
In his “2026 Prophecy for Liberia” and related ministerial broadcasts, Apostle Elijah Kofi King detailed several specific events he claims will hit the nation:
He claims two distinct factions will engage in a violent conflict over “the throne” (the presidency or state leadership).
He describes the looming situation as highly aggressive, stating it will be “very fierce and bloody”.
In accompanying warnings, he also alleged a massive “unordinary fire” caused by envious men and a subterranean eruption or earthquake would impact the country.
The prophecy has generated substantial pushback within Liberia’s socio-political discourse:
Many Liberians have publicly dismissed the claims, viewing foreign prophets as “political hired guns” trying to destabilize local confidence.
Community forums and Christian groups have urged citizens to “test and weigh” such statements rather than panic. They urge the public to focus on practical governance under current President Joseph Boakai.
Religious communities have emphasized biblical patterns of intercession, civic accountability, and national unity rather than succumbing to fear-based predictions.
Last week, Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church in Lagos, issued a public declaration regarding the political future of Liberia. His statements included:
He too claimed that Liberia will face an intense political crisis, including a potential coup attempt against sitting President Joseph Boakai.
He asserted that 81-year-old President Boakai is “tired” and “confused” and explicitly called on him to step down.
Ayodele additionally prophesied that former President George Weah would return to power to succeed Boakai.
The prediction triggered an immediate diplomatic and domestic uproar.
The Liberian Embassy in Nigeria officially complained on June 8, 2026, stating that Ayodele’s “prophecy” amounts to dangerous interference in Liberia’s sovereign politics and could severely damage bilateral relations between the two countries.
Eugene Fahngon, the Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), aggressively dismissed the claims, calling Ayodele a “rogue,” a “scammer,” and a “hardcore criminal” engaged in fear-mongering.
Liberian officials and critics pointed out that Ayodele shares a close personal relationship with George Weah. They highlighted that his previous prophecy predicting a Weah victory in the 2023 elections failed when Joseph Boakai won the presidency.
