IPNEWS: Former Chief of Protocol to ex-President George Weah, Nora Finda Bondo, has reportedly entered Liberia through Roberts International Airport on Tuesday without being arrested, despite an outstanding warrant issued by Criminal Court “C”.
Bondo, who is facing multiple criminal charges including money laundering, theft of property, misuse of public money, criminal conspiracy, forgery, and criminal facilitation, allegedly arrived aboard an Air Peace flight and passed through immigration authorities without incident.
The development has raised serious concerns over the enforcement of court orders and the credibility of Liberia’s border security system. .
Court records show that Bondo has filed a US$435,560 Property Valuation Bond before Criminal Court “C”, pledging several properties as security for her appearance during trial.
The bond requires her to remain under the court’s jurisdiction and prohibits her from leaving the country without authorization.
The case, brought by the Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT) and the Ministry of Justice, is part of a broader effort to recover assets allegedly linked to corruption and financial crimes.
As questions mount over her unchallenged arrival, attention is now shifting to the Liberia Immigration Service and other security agencies to explain whether the court’s arrest warrant remains active and, if so, why it was not enforced.
Our judicial correspondent says the incident highlights growing concerns about whether Liberia’s anti-corruption campaign is being applied equally to all citizens—or whether politically connected individuals continue to receive special treatment.
Criminal Court “C” in Monrovia has issued official arrest and search warrants for Nora Finda Bundoo (also spelled Bondo), the former Chief of Protocol to ex-President George Weah, along with her daughter and over 40 co-defendants. This major enforcement action follows a grand jury indictment brought by Liberia’s Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT) and the Ministry of Justice.
Finda Bundoo recently flew back into Liberia through Roberts International Airport (RIA). Rather than being jailed, her legal team submitted a US$435,560 Property Valuation Bond before Criminal Court “C”.
