–As CSA makes chairs for withholding funds of failed public Officials on Assets declaration

The Civil Service Agency (CSA) says more than 1,000 school chairs are nearing completion under President Joseph Boakai ’s “One Chair, One Child” initiative, using funds withheld from officials who failed to declare their assets.

CSA Director-General Josiah  Joekai speaking Wednesday during an assessment tour of the first batch of chairs at the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC), said what many considered “a myth” is now becoming a reality.

He explained that money deducted from the salaries of suspended government officials is financing the construction of the chairs, which will be turned over to the Ministry of Education for distribution to classrooms   by November.

Youth and Sports Minister Cole Bangalu, who joined the inspection, commended MVTC trainees and staff for their work on the project.

He noted that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to empowering Liberians through local expertise.
