    —-Holds First General Meeting Today

IPNEWS:  In a move toward unity, the newly elected Leadership of the Publishers Association of Liberia (PAL), has invited all Publishers including the breakaway Independent Publishers of Liberia (IPL) to its first general meeting slated for today Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Press Union of Liberia headquarters.

This marks the first outreach since grassroots publishers split from PAL, fulfilling a key campaign promise by the New PAL Leadership.

During the election debate, current PAL President Alphonso Tweh expressed frustration over the division. “I was disappointed to see publishers divided among themselves,” Tweh stated, vowing to reconcile the factions with the mother institution.

The invitation urges all publishers to attend, signaling hope for mending ties fractured by past disputes.

Industry observers hail the gesture as a step toward a stronger and collective advocacy amid media challenges.

PAL members anticipate productive discussions on shared goals.
