IPNEWS: Construction work on the new national headquarters for the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) political party in Liberia is progressing steadily in Congo Town, Monrovia. Groundwork and foundation stages are reportedly nearing completion as of late January 2026.
The new headquarters is located in the Congo Town area of Monrovia.
Recent visit by IPNEWS Crew saw visible structural progress, indicating momentum in the construction effort.
Party officials have expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and aim to complete the project within a targeted timeframe of a year following the groundbreaking ceremony in late 2025.
The initiative is spearheaded by former President George Manneh Weah, the CDC’s political leader. A construction committee was formed to manage the project, which is being funded through a fundraising drive involving supporters both locally and from the diaspora.
The facility is described by party officials as a symbol of the CDC’s resilience, unity, and organizational strength following the controversial demolition of their former headquarters in August 2025.
The national headquarters is part of a larger plan by the CDC to establish county chapter headquarters across all 15 political subdivisions of Liberia.
