WHERE IS Former Mines Minister Gersler Murray Amid Deepening Diamond Investigation underground.

IPNEWS: The Ministry of Justice through the office of the Solicitor General Cllr Augustine C. Fayiah, has cited several former officials of the Ministry of Mines and energy regarding matter involving the controversial 53.34 carat diamond.

It can be recalled that on the 9th of January the Civil Law Court of Montserrado county ordered the immediate enforcement of a mandate issued by the Supreme Court of Liberia in the long-running and controversial 53.34-carat diamond case.

A matter that continues to raise serious questions about accountability within the country’s mining governance framework.

The case, which involves Abraham Kamara, holder of a “C” Mining License (Claim #12F/Survey), was brought through a Petition for Judicial Review seeking enforcement of the Supreme Court’s mandate.

The petition names former Minister of Mines and Energy, Gelser E. Murray, Emmanuel Swen, former Assistant Minister, Mustapha Tounkara president of the Diamond Dealer Association ,Korvah Baysah Chief Diamond Appraisal , and Ishaka Konneh.

During the January ruling the presiding judge ordered the Ministry of Justice and its designees to immediately carry out enforcement of the Supreme Court’s mandate against the defendants named in the October 7 letter, with the sole exception of Cllr. Frank Musah Dean.

In response to the court directive the ministry through the Solicitor General cited the five defendants on January 14, 2026 at the ministry of justice, our sources said of the five defendants only Korvah Baysah attended the conference with the rest including Emmanuel Swen at large.

The ruling reinforces the authority of the Supreme Court and underscores that no former or current public official is above the law, particularly in matters involving national mineral resources.

The conference places renewed scrutiny on the actions of the former Mines and Energy Minister and other co-defendants, whose roles are now squarely under judicial review as the government moves to comply with the nation’s highest court.

The meeting citation stated ‘’ I present my compliments and write to formally notify you that as referenced in the attached communication, you are cited to attend a conference regarding the matter involving the ministry of mines and Energy vs, T David Sluward .’’ the communication stated.vThe Ministry of Justice through the office of the Solicitor General Cllr Augustine C.
