~Centrism Movement Throws Support to the President’s Leadership Style

IPNEWS; The Liberia Political Centrism Movement (LPCM), led by Counselor Kanio Bai Gbala, has formally given its allegiance to President Joseph N. Boakai and the Administration’s approach to governance and nation building.

At the head of a high level LPCM leadership delegation, Counselor Gbala told the Liberian Leader that, out of keen observation over a long period of time of President Boakai’s admirable efforts at uniting and setting the nation on the course of development, the LPCM found it imperative to endorse the President’s approach and offer to assist in bolstering the Government’s efforts.

He described his Organization as a Movement made of professionals of different political persuasions majority of who are from the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), but also comprising people with no specific political alignment. He said the members share the belief that politics should be conducted in a matured manner, should move country forward, and put the country first.

The LPCM Leader avowed that they had come to declare their support for the good things this Administration is doing and to assure the President of their preparedness to collaborate in every sphere of endeavor to push the Government’s development agenda.

Counselor Gbala went on to note that opposition in politics does not have to be so furiously bitter to the extent of losing the essence of national healing and togetherness. He stressed that opposition is best when centered on objective, good intentioned and practical interventions bearing the singular purpose of advancing the cause of the nation.

Members of the delegation took turns to speak up, reinforcing their Chairman’s presentation by reiterating their deep concern about the direction and forward march of the country.

Welcoming the Movement’s support, the President thanked the leaders and members of the Movement. He shared the thoughts expressed by the Movement, noting that he is not preoccupied with partisan considerations but the overall advancement of the country.

The President treated the group of young professionals to a lecture on his long history of experiences in which he demonstrated that his primary concern is always focused on pulling Liberians together to work in concert to achieve the nation’s development goals.

Climaxing the dialogue the Movement made a symbolic welcome to the President by presenting him the LPCM t-shirt and cap which the President received with gratitude.
