U.S. Chargé Joseph E. Zadrozny met with Liberia’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, to discuss Liberia’s efforts to combat corruption and strengthen rule of law, particularly in terms of prosecutions.

They also addressed recent measures to curb visa fraud, which undermines legitimate Liberian travelers, and ongoing conversations about establishing a War and Economic Crimes Court.

The meeting further highlighted the importance of improving border security and intensifying efforts to combat trafficking in persons. The United States remains committed to supporting Liberia’s pursuit of greater transparency, accountability, and stronger institutions, and stands ready to work with partners to help advance these shared objectives.

Joseph E. Zadrozny is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Liberia. He assumed the role after being appointed Deputy Chief of Mission in July 2025.  Zadrozny has held diplomatic assignments in numerous countries, including Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, China, Germany, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia. Before joining the Foreign Service in 1998, he was a Peace Corps volunteer and staff member. He is an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame and holds a master’s degree from the U.S. Army War College
