IPNEWS: Harper, Liberia – William V. S. Tubman University (TU) proudly announces its induction as the only Liberian university among 23 notable African institutions from 13 countries into the inaugural Jiangsu-Africa University Cooperation Alliance. This achievement highlights TU’s increasing role in advancing education and global collaboration under the leadership of Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, President of the University.

The Jiangsu-Africa University Cooperation Alliance is a new platform that promotes cooperation and exchange between leading universities in Jiangsu Province, China, and institutions across Africa. The alliance encourages cultural exchange, scientific research, technological innovation, talent development, and joint academic projects. It operates as a non-governmental, non-profit organization that unites universities committed to shared growth and progress.

The alliance is co-chaired by Prof. Letihokwa Mpedi, Vice Chancellor and Principal of the University of Johannesburg (South Africa), who serves as the first Chair for Africa, and Prof. Jian Juncheng, President of Nanjing Tech University (China), who represents Jiangsu Province.

Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, representing Liberia, expressed his appreciation, stating, “Education is the lamp that lights the path of progress and unity among peoples. We are honored to join hands with Jiangsu Province in this important effort, building connections across continents for the enlightenment and empowerment of our nations.”

Dr. Menjay also mentioned that although Tubman University is located in the southeastern corner of Liberia, it continues to play a vital role in the global academic community by supporting Liberia’s educational transformation and contributing to innovation and knowledge across borders.
