MONROVIA – Inspector General of Police Gregory Coleman has disclosed that investigators have so far found “absolutely nothing” linking suspended Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Bryant McGill to the alleged commission of rape.
Speaking on Class Reloaded, IG Coleman said that while the Liberia National Police (LNP) is still gathering potential evidence that could implicate McGill, “all initial examinations have shown no link.”
“We have interviewed security personnel assigned at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, prayed for his call log, and still nothing is pointing to McGill being at the scene of the alleged crime. The prosecutor is saying we don’t have anything to take to court,” Coleman said.
Comparing the case to that of Agriculture Ministry contractor Sando Kromah, Coleman stressed that the two investigations are different.
“In the case of the suspect that was sent to court (Sando Kromah), we had over three persons who testified to the commission of the crime on record. They all said they saw this man (Kromah) coming from the home of the victim’s father where the act was committed. But for McGill, we have reviewed everything and spoken to everybody, and still nothing,” Coleman explained.
