The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) Grand Gedeh detachment has climaxed the enrollment of thousands of Burkinabées in the county.

The closing ceremony brought together joint security, Burkinabee Nationals, forest owners, among others.

During the program, the Commander of LIS in Grand Gedeh Alex Kpakolo said the enrollment started since May 20,2025 and ended August 20,2025 with the total of 48,000 Burkinabées .

Commander Kpakolo at the same time revealed that LIS will not allow any more Burkinabe nationals to enter the county because of the end of the enrollment process.

Moreover, the Director for Operations of the Liberia Immigration Service Dennis B Sartee explained that the next phase of the enrolled Burkinabe nationals is to obtain their resident permits which cost 150 USD per person.

He at the same time appreciated LIS and the county local authority for their level of cooperation during the process.
