    IPNEWS: President Joseph Boakai has issued a stern warning to the majority bloc in the House of Representatives, led by Hon. Richard N. Koon, giving them until March 15, 2025, to resolve their ongoing leadership dispute or risk losing his support.

    The president’s message came during a crucial meeting with Hon. Koon at the Executive Mansion, where he expressed deep concern over the prolonged battle for the speakership. Boakai emphasized the need for unity and stability in the legislature, urging lawmakers to set aside their differences for the sake of national governance.

    A Divided House

    The leadership crisis in the House of Representatives has been a major point of contention since the beginning of the legislative session. The dispute stems from competing claims to the speakership, with factions within the ruling Unity Party and its coalition allies clashing over who should lead the lower chamber.
