IPNEWS: The assets recovery say it has verified and seized 17 high-profiled cases, ranging from theft of public assets, acquisition of suspicious property, theft thru fake road construction companies, construction firms and theft of liquid assets.

According to information a significant number of Liberians believed to be persons of interest acted under the cover of darkness criminally transferring suspicious money from their accounts, changed bank accounts, illegally crossed GOL vehicles to neighboring countries and sold them.

It is also reported that the individuals resprayed, and changed the original identity of GOL vehicles, changed title deed overnight, and falsified documents to invade the original identity of Gol assets.

But at MICAT Thursday’s press briefing head of APRET Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin said that its surveillance and intelligence unit is on full alert and those involved will be exposed.

Cllr. Martin noted that as part of the effort AREPT has established international cooperation with dozens of international partners in the UK, Ghana, and Nigeria.

According to him in solidarity and support to AREPT, one of its partners from the UK is expected in Liberia next month to assist in the review of its evidence and provide support to the government of Liberia in the fight against corruption.

Meanwhile, AREPT boss is requesting the public to report acts of theft in suspicious homes in communities, GOL Assets and yellow machines.
