IPNEWS: Monrovia-Rabat have signed 15 landmark agreements during a ceremony held in Rabat, marking a new chapter in their partnership.

According to a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreements are aimed at maintaining cooperation in critical sectors including technical assistance, healthcare, agriculture, human resource development, and governance.

The event was attended by Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, and her Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita.

According to a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreements are aimed at maintaining cooperation in critical sectors including technical assistance, healthcare, agriculture, human resource development, and governance.

Foreign Minister Nyanti during the signing ceremony, expressed deep gratitude for the contributions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in facilitating the Third Joint Commission, which focuses on mutual development.

“Morocco’s commitment to providing scholarships and vocational training opportunities for Liberian students is vital for our sustainable development,” stated Nyanti.

She also highlighted the establishment of the Moroccan Embassy in Liberia as a symbol of strengthened ties and mutual respect.

In his remarks, Foreign Minister of Morocco, Bourita acknowledged the alignment of developmental goals between the two nations and emphasized the need for innovative partnerships to drive economic growth.

He reaffirmed Morocco’s support for Liberia’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-2027 term.

Both ministers expressed admiration for the leadership of King Mohammed VI and Liberian President H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., noting their shared vision for deeper cooperation.

Both Ministers committed to promoting peace, sustainable development, and economic growth through enhanced collaboration.

The Joint Communiqué issued at the conclusion of the ceremony outlines a mutual aspiration to develop trade and investment opportunities, including plans to foster partnerships between the Port of Monrovia and Tangiers Port in Morocco.

This signing event, according to the release, reflects the enduring partnership between Liberia and Morocco and their collective determination to pursue shared goals and innovative strategies for development.

The release noted that the agreements represent a meaningful milestone and set the stage for a brighter, more prosperous future for both nations.
