    —– Advances Suggestions for Micro-stability

IPNEWS: Gbarpolu County Senator Amara Konneh has expressed concerns over the Boakai Administration’s first year in office. While macroeconomic stability has shown some improvement since the elections, the administration has faced significant challenges.

Senator Konneh highlighted several ongoing issues. There has been a lack of substantial new investments. Electricity shortages continue to plague the nation. Unemployment rates remain high, and drug use is on the rise. He described the legislature as chaotic and largely ineffective, often acting as an extension of the executive branch.

The senator pointed out the growing geopolitical influence of China, Russia, and the United States. He noted that global economic trends are increasingly uncertain, with anti-incumbent candidates gaining popularity in elections worldwide. He described the political climate in Sierra Leone as “exceptionally toxic.”

With elections approaching in Cote d’Ivoire and ongoing security challenges in Guinea, Senator Konneh called for reflection. He acknowledged the desire of regime supporters to defend the administration, but emphasized that recognizing failures is essential for progress.

“Governance is like football,” he stated. “Sometimes you score, and sometimes you miss. What matters is how you respond after a miss.”

As Liberia looks ahead, he urged citizens to consider the country’s direction for 2025. He posed a critical question: does President Boakai need a new approach? Senator Konneh encouraged public feedback, assuring that leaders are listening. “They all read my page!” he concluded. By Jerromie S. Walters
