    WAFU Makes Appointment FOR Zone A

    —As LFA Presents Championship Cash Prize to FC FASSELL 

    The West African Football Union ( WAFU A) Zone A has appointed several Liberians in key roles as part of the organization of the first edition of the WAFU-A U17 Girls Tournament, which will take place in Liberia from 15th to 28th September.

    The tournament IS expected to feature three countries including Senegal, Sierra Leone and hosts Liberia.

    Those appointed include:

    1. Tickly D. Monkoney, Jr –  Organizing Committee 

    2. Emmett Crayton – Organizing Committee 

    3. Jodie Reid-Seton – Match Commissioner 

    4. Alex Nagbo- Protocol Officer 

    5. Anthony Kokoi – Media and Marketing Officer

    6. Dr. Moses Tarawali – Medical Officer

    7. Boris Weah – General Coordinator

    8. Isaac T. Montgomery – Referee Assessor 

    9. Abraham B. Fahnbulleh – Fitness Instructor

    10. Madea Beatrice Edwins – Security Officer 

    This tournament will mark the sixth WAFU tournament to be hosted in Liberia since 2018. This tournament will involve Senegal, Sierra Leone, and the host nation Liberia. It is the sixth WAFU tournament to be hosted in Liberia since 2018. WAFU A has also appointed two Sierra Leonean officials, Alhaji Dawdu Williams (Referee Assessor) and Humu Marah (Central Referee), for the tournament.

    Meanwhile, the Liberia Football Association (LFA) has officially presented the championship cash prize of ����$����,������ to FC Fassell as champions of the 2024/25 LFA First Division League season.

    Beginning with the 2025/26 league season, this prize will be increased to ����$����,������ as part of the LFA’s commitment to raising the standards of domestic football.

    The check was presented on Friday 12, September at the LFA headquarters in Congo Town. FC Fassell’s Vice President for Administration, Newton Campbell represented the club doing the presentation.

    As league champions, FC Fassell will represent Liberia in the CAF Champions League, set to kick off this September.

    The LFA remains committed to supporting clubs and elevating the standards of football in Liberia at all levels.
