IPNEWS: Senator Nya Twayen Jr. of Nimba County has commended the Boakai-Koung administration for taking concrete steps to address key economic challenges affecting citizens in Nimba and across the country.

Speaking during a Senate session on October 21, 2025, Senator Twayen praised the government’s efforts to confront what he described as “bread and butter issues,” noting improvements in both infrastructure and access to essential commodities

“Road construction and other public works are ongoing in Nimba, the government has also made notable progress in stabilizing the prices of basic goods”. Twayen said.

He highlighted recent reductions in the costs of rice and petroleum products, along with improved fuel availability in the county.

“Better road connectivity between farming communities and local markets has contributed to lower transportation costs, providing much-needed relief to farmers and small traders”. He narrated

He also revealed that the Nimba Legislative Caucus is planning a meeting with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to present development priorities and key concerns from the county.

Senator Twayen reaffirmed Nimba’s support for the administration’s development agenda and expressed optimism that continued collaboration would bring further improvements to the lives of ordinary Liberians. By: Andrew B Weah, 0770637216/0886429103, andrewbweah@gmail.com
