President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., hosted a special Iftar dinner with members of the Muslim community on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.

The gathering, which brought together esteemed Islamic clerics, government officials, and distinguished members of the Muslim community, was a testament to the Administration’s commitment to fostering unity, religious tolerance, and national development.

In his remarks, President Boakai acknowledged the significance of the holy month of Ramadan as a time of deep reflection, devotion, and self-discipline. He emphasized the importance of compassion, unity, and sacrifice in building a stronger and more inclusive Liberia.

“Liberia is a land of diverse faiths and cultures, but we are one people, bound by a common destiny,” President Boakai stated, assuring that, “My Administration remains firmly committed to fostering religious tolerance, ensuring equal opportunities for all, and strengthening the bonds that unite us as Liberians.”

The President further recognized the invaluable contributions of the Muslim community to Liberia’s growth and development. He encouraged all citizens to uphold the spirit of Ramadan by demonstrating empathy, generosity, and solidarity, particularly in support of the less fortunate.

“As we break our fast together in this solemn and serene atmosphere, let us renew our commitment to love, justice, tolerance, and national unity,” he urged, adding, “Let us pray for a peaceful, prosperous, and united Liberia, where every citizen, regardless of faith or background, can thrive and contribute to our collective progress.”

The Iftar dinner was attended by prominent Islamic religious personalities, representatives of the diplomatic community and community leaders who expressed gratitude for the President’s recognition of the Muslim community and his dedication to inclusivity.

The event concluded with prayers for national peace, stability, and prosperity.
