IPNEWS: The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has announced a landmark achievement in domestic revenue mobilization, recording approximately US$818.0 million in collections as of December 29, 2025, exceeding the approved Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 revenue target of US$804.6 million by US$13.4 million.
The performance represents the highest level of domestic revenue collection ever recorded in Liberia’s history, marking a major milestone in the country’s fiscal development and public finance management since the establishment of the LRA.
According to the Authority, the FY 2025 National Budget projected core domestic revenue of US$804.6 million. However, sustained improvements in revenue administration and compliance have enabled the LRA to outperform expectations well before the close of the fiscal year.
The LRA noted that it has consistently exceeded its year-to-date revenue targets throughout the fiscal year, reflecting strong and sustained performance across key revenue streams.
Commenting on the achievement, LRA Commissioner General James Dorbor Jallah described the outcome as a testament to ongoing institutional reforms and the dedication of the Authority’s workforce. Building on the current success, Commissioner General Jallah has set an ambitious internal target of achieving US$1.176 billion in domestic revenue for FY 2026.
The Authority attributed the historic performance to enhanced taxpayer compliance, the rollout of technology-driven reforms, improved revenue collection systems, and the professionalism and commitment of LRA staff nationwide.
The LRA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening compliance, expanding the tax base, and modernizing its operations to support the Government of Liberia’s development agenda and ensure sustainable domestic resource mobilization in the years ahead.
