IPNEWS: The Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has honored 17 of its retiring employees for their years of dedicated service to the institution. These individuals, who have reached their retirement milestones, were recognized for their hard work and commitment to the company’s success.
The retirees include: Yayah A. Sanoe, Charles D. Sherman II, Cornelius B. Miamen, Charles K. Kolee, James Japper, Theodosia Wreh, Cecelia G. Tarpeh, Thomas M. McGill, Jlateh Foe, Peter Lablah, Benedict G. Yini, Titus Y. Baryoegar, Hamilton Blahyi, Solomon S. Francis Sr., Sophie Y. Nagbe, Markson Penciles, and Peter Wee.
The retirement ceremony, held over the weekend at the Paynesville Town Hall, was a moment of reflection and appreciation. Darius Tamba, President of the LPRC workforce, described the retirees’ contributions as invaluable, acknowledging their significant role in advancing the interests of the company.
He stated, “The memories we share with our retirees are unforgettable, as their positive contributions have helped elevate the institution to new heights. Their unwavering dedication and commitment will be cherished by all of us.”
The President of the Local Workers Union also highlighted the event as an important milestone for the retirees. “To our retirees who have immensely contributed to LPRC, we reflect on the solidarity and camaraderie we have built together. The connections we’ve shared over the years will continue to live on,” he said, encouraging the retirees to remain connected with the LPRC family and stay involved whenever their contributions are needed.
On behalf of the retirees, Yayah A. Sanoe expressed gratitude and urged his colleagues to continue contributing to the entity, even after retirement. “Although we are retiring, the legacy of our work remains,” he said. Sanoe thanked the LPRC management for their support and collaboration during their tenure, as well as for the dignified retirement ceremony.
Amos B. Tweh, Managing Director of LPRC, also paid tribute to the retirees, describing them as remarkable individuals who dedicated their lives to serving both the company and the Republic of Liberia. “Your transition into retirement is well-deserved,” he said. “As you reflect on your contributions, you should be proud of the ideals you have embodied throughout your careers: integrity, confidentiality, hard work, and an unwavering love for our country.”
Tweh emphasized that the retirees’ services have left an indelible mark on the company and the nation. “Each of you represents the essence of public service. Your dedication, professionalism, and love for the country have shaped the success of LPRC. You have shown us that true service comes not just from ambition, but from integrity, discipline, and a commitment to doing what is right.”
The LPRC Managing Director further noted that public service is one of the highest callings and that the retirees answered that call with excellence. “Whether it was ensuring the smooth operations of LPRC, upholding confidentiality, or fostering trust within the institution, your actions have demonstrated true public service,” he said.
“The dinner this evening is not just a farewell; it is a tribute to your legacy. It is a moment to reflect on your achievements and the lessons you leave behind. Your contributions have strengthened the foundation of LPRC and ensured its continued importance in Liberia’s development,” Tweh concluded.
On behalf of the Chairman and the Board of Directors of LPRC, Tweh extended heartfelt gratitude to each retiree for their loyalty, dedication, and outstanding service.
