    LIBERIA: Police Receives 90 New Motorcycles, 3,000 Sets of Uniforms Others

    IPNEWS: The government of the People Republic of China has turnover huge consignments to the government of Liberia through the Liberia National Police (LNP)

    In his remarks, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, YIN Chenwu said the donation was the result of the conversation between Presidents Joseph Nyumah Boakai of Liberia and XI Jinping of the People’s Republic of China.

    Items donated included 1,500 uniform shirts, 1,500 uniform trousers, 1000 pairs of leather shoes, 1,500 pics of police hats, police boots 500.

    Other items are 500 pics of undert-shirts, raincoats, 1,500, motorcycles received are 90 new ones while DMR handheld digital radios and handheld dual mode radios accounted for 1,100 and 55 respectively.

    “China and Liberia are friends and partners. We are committed to conducting cooperation and exchange with the LNP. We reaffirm our commitment to this strategic partnership -to work together, understand each other, and support each other” Ambassador Chenwu said.

    He intoned that the China Aid is a concrete manifestation of China’s supporting Liberia in strengthening its law enforcement capacity, low enforcement officers are the guardians of the community.

    He said, “Day in and day out, you work tirelessly to ensure the streets are safe, the neighborhoods are secure, and the people can live in peace.”

    He also recognized that the LNP responds to emergencies, offers help in times of crisis, and often serve events that represent not only the delivery of essential materials, but also the continuation of a long-standing friendship and mutual trust between China and Liberia.

    “Over the years, our bilateral cooperation has yielded fruitful results in various areas,” Amb.Chenwu said.

    He furthered that, “ These supplies just add another new achievement and will inject new impetus to our bilateral relations.”

    The items were received by Inspector General of Police Gregory O.W.Coleman who praised the Chinese government for their continued support.

    He said those supplies will aid the police force in fighting crimes in the communities.

    He promised that the items will be used for the purpose intended, adding that those in the rural areas of Liberia will benefit from the donation.

    The IG of the LNP reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to the One China Policy
