‎IPNEWS: President Joseph Boakai has called on government ministries and agencies to prioritize Liberian-owned businesses as part of efforts to strengthen the national economy and promote local entrepreneurship.

‎‎The President made the statement recently during the official opening of Uptown Motors’ new showroom in Paynesville.‎

‎He said supporting Liberian-owned companies will help create jobs, keep money circulating within the country, and build the capacity of local investors to compete regionally and internationally.

‎‎President Boakai noted that when government institutions patronize local businesses, it sends a strong signal of confidence in their products and services. He stressed that economic growth will be more sustainable when Liberians are given opportunities to own, manage, and expand major enterprises.

‎‎The Liberian Chief Executive also commended Uptown Motors for its investment in the country and encouraged other Liberians in the private sector to continue contributing to national development through innovation and expansion.

‎‎He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support to keep upholding a suitable business climate in Liberia. ‎By: Wilmot Konah, dadekolly20@gmail.com
