—As Ghanian Police Lunches Investigation
The Ghana Police Service is currently investigating the death of 26-year-old Liberian national Austin Tengeeh (also reported as Austin Tengbeh), who was killed in an alleged mob attack in Lashibi, near Sakumono, on February 27, 2026.
According to the report, Tengeeh was visiting his brother at an apartment complex, accompanied by his girlfriend. A caretaker reportedly raised a false alarm, accusing him of being a thief, which prompted a group of residents to assault him.
Other reports suggest that the incident began after Tengeeh allegedly made a “light joke” to a pregnant woman, which she took offense to and reported to security.
Police rescued Tengeeh and rushed him to the Sakumono Community Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body is currently at the Lashibi Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy.
Three suspects Vincent Adzikah (38), Francis Amuzu (44), and William Addison (34)—are in custody and were expected to appear in court on March 2, 2026.
Latest report says Police are actively searching for a fourth other suspects, Enoch Mensah, who remains at large.
The Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) stated that the Liberian Government is engaging Ghanaian authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and justice for the deceased.
The Ghana Police Service has issued a stern warning against mob justice, reminding the public that it is a criminal offense that undermines due process.
